Burundi Rubirizi

From the Rubirizi washing station in southwest Burundi comes this coffee. Here are some of the world's oldest coffee bushes.

The washing station is located at an altitude of 1500 meters and when the ripe coffee berry arrives it undergoes a 10 hour dry fermentation followed by a 12 hour wet fermentation before being washed and then soaked for another 10 hours in tanks.

Mostly this is then dried on raised beds under the sun. The coffee has a fruity touch of red berries and citrus. But also a long and intense aftertaste.
